Since 2 December 2019, Brook has been delivering a new innovative all-age sexual health and contraception service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Working in partnership with SH:24, an award-winning supplier of digital sexual health and reproductive services, we provide a unique blend of online and face-to-face provision fit for the digital age.
Brook is a nationwide sexual health and wellbeing charity that was established over 55 years ago. For 25 of those years, Brook has delivered young people’s sexual health services across Cornwall, so we are well placed to understand the challenges and meet the needs of Cornwall’s unique population.
Brook has 19 face-to-face sexual health and contraception services across the county, seven of which are specifically dedicated to supporting people under 25.
Brook also provides relationships and sex education in schools and colleges across Cornwall.
Brook takes a life course approach, with a strong focus on education, early intervention and prevention for children, young people and those at risk.
SH:24 partners with Brook to provide adults (18 and over) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly with online sexual health and contraception services, including postal STI tests, treatment, oral contraception and remote clinical support. SH:24 ensures you have access to a 24/7 digital service, alongside walk-in and appointment clinics.
Set up by a team of public health professionals, sexual health clinicians, designers and academics, SH:24 is designed around people’s needs and is not-for-profit. It works alongside existing face-to-face services with the simple aim of using technology and clinical expertise to improve people's health and wellbeing. Their safeguarding approach has been developed in consultation with young people and the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare
SH:24 have successfully delivered over 300,000 STI tests, and won the Queens Award for Enterprise - Innovation 2018, and the Guardian Public Service Awards 2018 for Digital and Technology.
SH:24 is registered with the CQC and uses UKAS accredited laboratories.
